The internet is a fantastic tool for staying connected and learning new things, but it also comes with risks. Scammers often target older adults, making it essential to stay informed and vigilant. This free workshop is designed to provide adults aged 55 and older with essential cybersecurity awareness skills and teach them how to avoid scams.

In this workshop, you will:

  • Learn how to recognize common online scams, including phishing emails, fraudulent phone calls, and suspicious text messages.

  • Understand the principles of digital citizenship, such as protecting your online accounts and using the internet responsibly.

  • Explore key cybersecurity best practices, like creating strong passwords, recognizing secure websites, and safeguarding your personal information.

  • Discover how to report scams and respond quickly to potential threats.

  • Gain confidence in safely navigating social media, online shopping, and email communications.

This 60-minute session is designed for older adults who want to feel empowered and secure in the digital space, whether they’re beginners or experienced users. No prior technical skills are needed.

The workshop will include time at the end for questions and to address your specific concerns.
