This workshop helps older adults take control of their online safety. We will teach attendees how to make and manage strong passwords using simple tools like password managers and passphrases. We’ll also explain how multi-factor authentication (MFA) works and why it adds important protection.
We will discuss how to keep personal information private online—such as adjusting social media privacy settings and managing account details. Attendees will learn how to avoid identity theft by understanding how data breaches happen and what steps they can take to monitor their accounts.
We’ll also teach how to freeze credit reports to prevent scammers from opening accounts in someone else’s name. Handouts and step-by-step guides will be provided so attendees can follow up at home.
By the end of this session, attendees will have practical tools and knowledge to feel safer and more confident using the internet.
